Building Secure & Reliable Systems: Micro Review
It’s been a while since I posted a book. Well, this is part of the reason. At 500+ pages, I didn’t anticipate reading this page by page but I ended up doing something close :) The latest book in the SRE collection is simply a gem. Again codifying many best practices of how to design and operate highly secure and reliable software systems.
The book successfully argues that security and reliability are emergent properties of system’s design and can thus are difficult to bolt on after the fact. It’s rich in techniques, best practices and case studies from Google’s internal systems. And it ends perfectly by addressing the cultural aspect of security and reliability.
Who is responsible for security and reliability? Everyone !!!
