Creativity Inc. — Micro Review
If you are looking for how to nurture creativity, what’s better than looking at the folks who gave us the likes of Woody, Buzz, Lightening & Coco for inspiration. Not only a great read, the story of Pixar is an inspiring tale of how the company came to be. Recommended read.
The book summarized a set of principles at the end. The most interesting one for me:
“An organization, as a whole, is more conservative and resistant to change than the individuals who comprise it. Do not assume that general agreement will lead to change — it takes substantial energy to move a group, even when all are on board.”
How true!!! In reality, an organization is more than its people. It’s the processes, culture, mindset, behaviors, profit formulas and all the biases that have built into those over the years !!!
