40 Books to read on Leadership, Corporate Strategy, Digital Transformation, Innovation, Technology & Society
From my early childhood, I have always been an avid reader and read whatever I can for fun and learning. At some point, life happened and reading books took a backseat. But the last 2 years have afforded me the luxury and the opportunity to seriously pursue that hobby in earnest as well as track them through the micro reviews I share on my linkedin profile.
If you follow me on Linkedin, you probably have seen my reviews and thought “Where does he get so much time?”. Well, I am not going to go into that today.
However, i will try and address two topics here —
- As some of you have asked me how do I pick a book to read, I will cover that.
- I will attempt to summarize my reading list in the last 2 years by categorizing the same which hopefully provides some semblance of coherence in my otherwise seemingly random choices of books. I have been wanting to do this for a few months now :)
What books to read?
Reading a book requires significant investment of your most precious resource — time. So it makes sense to spend some time selecting the right books to read. Well, my choice of books may seem random at first but they are chosen from some popular recommended reading lists that are posted online and research I do on what books to pick. They are also based on the topics of my personal and business interest. At the end of the day, the only goal of my reading is learning, intellectual stimulation and fun.
Here are some key sources that guide my reading choices:
- Listopia at Goodreads: Goodreads is the definitive guide to all things books and their listopia is a great way to research popular books by topics.
- Amazon New Releases in Business: I do look at this now and then to find interesting new releases.
- NYTimes Bestseller List: This is another place that I visit once every few weeks to look for interesting finds.
- Ted.com: I visit ted.com a lot and they do publish articles on book recommendations and I did find couple of my reads here.
- Nextbigideaclub: This a subscription based site started by Adam Grant. I dont have a subscription to this but I do look at their past lists.
