If you are really interested in company culture (esp. engineering culture), you probably have read the Netflix culture handbook. Powerful is written by the author of that handbook — Patty Maccord.
It’s an interesting literature in how to encourage a culture of freedom yet balance it with responsibility and accountability. The book does have some nice nuggets around some basic principles which we all probably follow — honest communication , open debate, building the team for long term, measuring team performance rather than attrition, constant feedback etc.
The value of reading this book is in real life anecdotes and how you use all these principles to reinforce the culture of freedom, responsibility and excellence.
